Where things actually stand
California — open
We onboard cooks anywhere in the state. Shelf-stable food is legal in every county. Hot meals need your county to have opted into MEHKO, and 17 counties have.
Utah — next
Utah legalised home kitchens statewide in 2021 — the only other state that has. It's where we go after California. Join the list and you'll be first.
Everywhere else
Every state has a Cottage Food law, so shelf-stable homemade food is legal to sell. No other state permits hot meals from a home kitchen yet. Tell us where you are — it's how we pick the next market.
